Being the owner of a very ravenous sweet tooth requires a lot of effort when it comes to soothing and calming the savage beast. It’s very controlling and manipulative, always telling me what it wants, how much it wants, and demanding that I satisfy its every need. Is it possible that Jiva Mishri Rock Candy can tame the sweet craving shrew? As a wise old lollipop sucking owl once said. . .”Let’s find out!”

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth with Jiva Organics Mishri Rock Candy Review
After opening the resealable bag, the mishri spills into the palm of my hand like a bunch of mini ice cubes. Overall, they seem to be somewhat uniform in size and shape, and somewhat smaller than traditional rock candy that you may find on a stick, which is really the only rock candy I can remember eating. Jiva Mishri is only 12 calories per 5g serving, with each bag containing approximately 40 servings, so I’m guessing this bag could go a very long way. It’s 100% all natural organic mishri and contains no artificial flavors or preservatives, and it’s fat free.
My sweet craving shrew-tooth is not always in need of indulging in the finest baked goods, ice cream or other sweet treats. Most times something as simple as a cup of tea with a little honey can do the trick. Hey, I can even use this in my coffee or tea as a sweetener! Who would have guessed.
I pop some mishri into my mouth, about 1/4 teaspoon, and just suck on them for a bit. I can immediately tell when the candy gets to the point where it is very easy to chew, and thankfully it doesn’t taste like a pile of sugar in my mouth. It mostly dissolves and doesn’t feel gritty or grainy. Much to my surprise, the aftertaste reminds me of that last sip of green tea and honey, you know, that last drop of honey that inevitably sits on the bottom of the cup. Yum. . .and the sweet tooth rage is over.
In all seriousness, this is a cool little bag of candy. Fun to keep on the counter and drop a couple in my mouth every now and then. I even tried it as a sweetener in my hot drinks and it tastes great. Jiva Organics Mishri can possibly assist me in my quest for weight loss too. Instead of running straight to the chocolate for a quick fix, I could trim a few extra calories from my daily totals by popping mishri to tame the shrew. Hey, every little bit counts, but whose counting?
