Always on the hunt for new and exciting skin care products, I was excited to try the Konjac Facial Sponge Original and with added Bamboo Charcoal. How well does this sponge work?

The Konjac Facial Sponges by Pure Sol are 100% natural and made with the edible fibers of the Konjac root plant. Having naturally sensitive skin I have to be careful about the products I choose to use on my face.  The Konjac Sponge with added Bamboo Charcoal seemed like a natural choice for me since it is recommended for sensitive skin.

First off, I love that it comes in a recyclable chip board box, and the sponges themselves are 100% biodegradable. They come wrapped in plastic and once removed, the sponges are very hard and condensed.  You simply place it in water for several minutes so it can rehydrate and it is ready for use. The sponge has a string connected so that you can hang it on the handy suction hook included in the box. 

The Konjac sponge is praised for its ability to exfoliate and moisturize the skin. It also removes dirt, residue and oils, and balances pH levels, as well as promoting cell growth. These all sound like a bonus so let’s try them both and see.

Konjac Facial Sponge Review

I place my sponge in a small bowl of water while I remove my makeup and prep for cleansing.  Once the sponge is ready, I remove about half of the water by placing it between both palms and pressing gently (do not wring or twist the sponge). I apply my cleanser to the sponge and gently wash my face using circular motions. 

How well do these sponges work? I love the way the sponge feels on my face. It feels so soft on my skin and even increases the bubble factor of my cleanser. 

Since using the Konjac Sponges, my skin is showing true signs of hydration and my breakouts are once again under control. My pores look smaller and my face feels really hydrated throughout the day. I switch back and forth between the original and the bamboo charcoal sponge using each one every other day.  There have been no adverse effects from these sponges and honestly, I can not get over how soft my skin feels and how radiant and glowing it looks. 

How much do I love this sponge? The Konjac Facial Sponges are winners in my book and a must for my beauty bag. It’s a bonus that these sponges are 100% free of parabens, sulfates and any nasty chemicals.  It’s recommended that you change sponges every 2-3 months, and when I am done I can toss them right in the compost. Eco-friendly is always a plus! I can even disinfect them by placing them in the microwave for approximately a minute in a bowl of water, thus leaving the sponge free of harmful bacteria.
