I pretty much swear by using a facial sponge over a terrycloth face towel any day, and Konjac fiber facial sponges are at the top of the list. The newest one I have been using is the Oleavine Konjac French Green Clay Infused Facial Sponge which I received free in exchange for my humble opinion – time to share again!

The Oleavine Konjac French Green Clay Infused Facial Sponge is designed to remove excess oils, dirt and bacteria from the skin. It’s good for all skin types, but combination skin and/or an oily T-zone will benefit from using this sponge. French clay is packed with minerals and it has natural absorbent and antiseptic properties. Using this sponge helps promote circulation, absorb toxins, and keep bacteria at bay, all while gently exfoliating and cleansing the skin. You don’t even need to use a face cleanser – unless that’s your druthers.
Oleavine Konjac Facial Sponge French Green Clay Infused Review
First up – packaging of course. The sponge comes in a slick, upscale looking box trimmed with silver accents – nice. The sponge is shrink-wrapped and comes with a string attached. I’m not sure if Oleavine provides one, but unfortunately I did not receive a suction cup with my sponge. I doubled checked the box, but it was not there. Could have just been a packing error – or better yet, just my luck.
This sponge is bigger than some I’ve used in the past and has a teardrop shape. With caution, I removed the wrap from the sponge being careful not to cut the string – yes I have done this before! As far as texture, it definitely feels like konjac fiber, but it does not feel quite as hard as I’m used to these sponges feeling.
Time to soak it in water and watch the magic happen. It actually soaks up water pretty quickly for it’s size, so I’m off and ready to cleanse my skin. Going with the no cleanser method, I washed using small circular motions all over my face. Keeping in mind that I do have combination skin, I felt fine using this all over my face.
I pressed the sponge free of water easily, and hung it up to dry and took a look in the mirror. You know that look you get when you’re a little flushed or blushing? That’s what my face looked like. Let me explain myself. It looked as if the sponge had indeed amped up the circulation in my face, leaving it with a glow. Made me feel like I had a quick little facial and Jaxs was feeling good.
The next day my skin looked clear and. . . dare I say. . .refreshed!
It’s a keeper. However, I don’t plan to use this one every day, but I will keep it in the weekly rotation to help keep my crazy combo skin in check.
