Apply Makeup Flawlessly

The best way to the best face is to put some light on the subject – we need to see what we are doing when in the throws of beautification of our skin, be it maintenance or applying the perfect makeup. Let me share my opinion on my recent purchase of an LED light vanity makeup mirror.

The Asanti Tri-fold LED light vanity makeup mirror is big enough to work with, yet it sports a small profile. It arrives in a slick black box which is perfectly packaged for shipping.

Out of the box

There were no nicks, dents or cosmetic issues with the housing. All necessary pieces were present and accounted for. The mirror is very easy to set up. Power comes in the form of installing 4 triple AAA batteries, or using the USB cable which is included. Just plug into a computer or USB charger.

Next, set the handle into the base. Locking the tabs into the base takes a bit of effort, however it seems to result in a very sturdy and strong base.

This mirror rotates horizontally, and it can be flipped 180 degrees, allowing me to choose the best side for the 1x, 2x and 3x magnification. Unpacked, the mirror was absolutely spotless!

I wanted to compare this mirror to the old style lighted makeup mirrors: you know the ones with the lightbulbs? I always suffered from what I call “light burn” after prolonged exposure to the lightbulbs, so using an LED light vanity makeup mirror is a new experience for me.

Lights, Camera, Action

I love, love, LOVE these lights. A simple quick press of the front button turns the 21 LED lights on and off. It is most necessary to remember to turn the lights on at the back of the mirror first, or you may think your mirror is malfunctioning. Been there, done that. However, batteries will retain their power longer by turning this switch off, making this a thoughtful feature.

Full illumination provides the feel of natural daylight, and a long press of the front button dims the LED lights to a comfortable glow.  I love having the choice; with the old style mirrors, you get lights on or lights off…PERIOD! This will hopefully prevent light burn to my precious eyes.

The 1x, 2x ad 3x magnification mirrors do a great job.…a bit too much information for me 🙂 These mirrored sections will definitely help with applying lashes, tweezing, or anything else that needs a closer look. The bonus 10x magnification mirror provides way too much information on my skin, but I love the suction mount and the option for an even more intimate look.

The Asani Tri-fold Magnification LED Light Vanity Makeup Mirror

I can see where this mirror would be great to travel with, because it is very small and not extremely heavy. The base could be a bit easier to remove, and I tried pressing the tabs together with just my hands to remove it, but honestly I did not want to break a nail, so I gave up. It would be great to remove the base to pack in my luggage flat. This is really the only flaw I find in this mirror.

A standard wall plug is not included, but after some use, you won’t miss having a cord permanently attached to the mirror, so the battery and USB options work just fine.

The Asani Tri-fold Magnification LED Light Vanity Makeup Mirror is sturdy and stylish, very well made and very well lighted. It looks really cool and therefore, I plan to put it to very good use. I’m definitely going to purchase one to give to a friend for her birthday – I know she’ll love it!
