At this stage of life, I am always trying to get healthy, stay healthy and be healthy. I started drinking green tea about 2-3 years ago and found that it really did help to boost my metabolism and provide me with energy. Then, Dr. Oz started touting the benefits of Matcha green tea, so of course I had to find out what it was all about. I was given the opportunity to try Kiss Me Organics Ceremonial Grade Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder, and I want to share with you why I am so very glad I did!
Eating and exercise are great, but let’s face it: sometimes I need a little boost to help me get through the day, the week and the years. I have tried green tea in many forms – gum, pills and bottled green tea and hot green tea I make at home. I was excited to try a more pure organic form of this amazingly beneficial tea.
Kiss Me Organics Ceremonial Grade
Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder Review
Packaging: Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea Powder comes in a cute little tin – I’m a lover of tins and I have a nice sized collection of them – so this was just perfect for me. The tin states that this is a ceremonial grade of matcha powder – huh, that sounds really special. It’s grown in the Shizuoka region of Japan which is recognized by the United Nations as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. Wow, I’m starting to feel like royalty 🙂
Inside of the tin there’s a little silver bag which contains the matcha powder. If this powder were not packed in a bag, it would literally be all over the place. This makes it convenient to scoop it out as you need it without too much mess. This powder really is delicate.
Taste: I first tried the matcha powder as suggested on the label, mixing ½ teaspoon in 3 ounces of hot water (not boiling). I found the taste to be very earthy – like drinking a glass of blended greens. I’m used to blending veggies in my smoothies, so it was not off-putting at all. The powder was pretty easy to mix and dissolved quickly. I tried it again using a milk frother and it worked really well, fully blending the powder. The powder did not leave a bitter aftertaste.
Bonus: I also received a recipe e-book with a bunch of great recipes. My first attempt was the Organic Green Tea Latte.

Being a huge fan of ginger, my favorite is the Iced Ginger Matcha which is delish! I also tried the Berry Good Morning Smoothie which gave me great energy for the start of my day, so this one will probably stay in the arsenal. I had to use frozen fruit, but I plan to try this with fresh berries too.
The recipes don’t stop at the drinks. Let me whet your whistle a bit with just a few:
Lemon Matcha Waffles, Matcha Green French Toast, Matcha Frosting, Matcha Oreo Cheesecake, Green Tea Tiramisu, Jalapeno Matcha Cornbread, and Matcha-Mole (Guacamole).
I could go on and on. This book is amazing and really sets you up nicely to use your matcha powder in more ways than one.
Final thoughts: I am very happy that I had the chance to try Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea Powder. The added benefits far outweigh drinking regular green tea. I get a boost of energy without feeling jittery, and I’m able to focus during the day and get my work done without that afternoon crash syndrome. I haven’t used it long enough to claim weight loss or revved up metabolism, but I would guess with the energy it provides, my internal furnace must be burning, and I’m looking forward to a little weight loss in the future. Even if I don’t use the recipes, I can still add it to my morning smoothies.
