Driving is one of the things I actually enjoy – without traffic of course – but I can’t enjoy it very much without having my favorite tunes on and turned up. Most of the time I use my iPod, but my little convertible does not offer much in the way of a console and it makes it difficult for my iPod to stay in place. I’m always on the hunt for solutions and this is where the Sticky Suction Stand Car Mount by iGotTech comes into play. Is it worth the price?

Let’s find out if the Sticky Suction Stand Car Mount by iGotTech is really worth a shot. I’ll tell you upfront that this is an in-depth review, because I really believe in this product.
Sticky Suction Stand Car Mount Review
First the basics. Packaging is simple and thankfully, there’s not too much. The mount is clearly visible before you open the package. No assembly required once out of the package, simply remove the protective plastic from the sticky surface and the suction cup. The device attaches to a sticky surface that can be renewed simply by washing the surface with soap and warm water. This surface does absolutely no damage to any device, but it is quite sticky. Honestly, I could not wait to get it in the car and try it out to see if it would even work at all.
I found my flat surface, lifted the tab on the suction cup and applied it, locking the tab back in place. The mount stuck to the dash for my entire trip, which turned out to be a very warm sunny day and all the while my convertible top was down for the entire trip. The heat of the day did not affect the suction at all.
At this point in my review, I have to compare the iGotTech Sticky Suction Stand to the one “As Seen on TV”. They both work on the same principle allowing you to renew the sticky surface.
I purchased the latter one awhile back, put it together and tried it out on one of my trips. After removing my iPod from the sticky surface on one of my stops, I returned to my car and remounted my device. After two minutes and one small bump in the road, the iPod fell off. . .down to the floor under my feet. Not cool! I picked it up and remounted it, and it fell off again, and again, until I gave up. I had to continue my trip without the mount.
When I returned home I washed it as recommended with soap and warm water and let it air dry. I tried again on my next trip with the same results and worse. This time the suction cup disengaged and at that point I called it quits with this mount. Only good for one use – one must wash, attach, remove, repeat. Bummer.
On my trip with the Sticky Suction Stand, I attached and removed my device a total of 6 times, Amazingly it stuck and stayed stuck! In fact, I had to use both hands to remove my iPod. No risk of my device falling off any more. THIS REALLY WORKS!
Since receiving the Sticky Suction Stand about a month ago, I can happily say that I have yet to remove it from my car or re-attach the suction cup, and I have not had to wash or “renew” the sticky surface once! I keep attaching my iPod on each trip, watching and waiting for it to fall off, and it stays put each and every time. I can mount my device in portrait or landscape mode and it stays. Big bumps – no problem – this mount keeps my device in place.
iGotTech is becoming one of my favorite companies. I had the opportunity to do a review on the magnetic screen door that they manufacture and it is really living up to the hype. Best doggie door ever! Check the review out here. The Magnetic Screen Door is a great quality product, and the Sticky Suction Stand is proving its worth as well. I just hope they keep making quality products for me to review.
Mount your phone, iPod, GPS – whatever you need to mount, the Sticky Suction Stand by iGotTech has got you covered! Check out their website or stop by Amazon and get one for yourself. Check out my video review here.
