Hyaluronic acid is found in the body naturally, most of it residing in the tissues of the skin. It can be used to help with a multitude of issues, like lubricating the joints, plumping and moisturizing of the skin, and preventing and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is also used in medical products, and it made its way into the skin care market several years ago and is gaining popularity every day.

I have been using Day By Day Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum for about 3 weeks, and I can see some real benefit from its use. My skin feels plump and full, and remains very hydrated throughout the day.  I have combination skin, but mostly dry. I live in the mountains and the air up here can be very dry, especially in the Winter.  I used to apply moisturizer to my face 2-3 times a day to keep my skin from drying out.

However, since I have started using Day By Day Hyaluronic Acid Serum, my skin stays hydrated all day long. I only apply moisturizer during the day because I need to keep SPF on my face when I venture outside, but otherwise I would not need to moisturize but once in the morning and once at night.

The ingredients in Day by Day Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum include aloe, green tea, witch hazel, vitamin C and E, as well as jojoba oil.  I am aware that some people do not like to use witch hazel due to it’s drying nature, but I have never had a problem with severe dryness from its use.  As a toner, it helps to control any irritations that I may get due to my allergies.  Something you may want to think about if you do not like using witch hazel.

Hyaluronic acid is also a non-irritant and an anti-inflammatory and I have noticed that I have not had as many breakouts as usual during this time of the year.  This serum is a bit viscous with a cloudy appearance, but it glides onto the skin very nicely and absorbs quickly, making my skin feel nice and tight and hydrated.
