A Little History

My work as a professional singer and actress in the entertainment industry has been a constant source of inspiration. However, I have always loved creating art with my hands. I started painting years ago when Bob Ross was big on PBS television. Watching him create beautiful mountain scenes inspired me to want to put brush to canvas. I ran out and purchased an oil painting set and some canvases.  I started painting friendly trees, majestic mountains and the happy little accidents.  Acquiring inspiration pushed me to keep at it, even though I didn’t considered myself to be proficient in this medium. I eventually tried acrylics and the somewhat famous “one-stroke” flower painting method with some success.  Sadly, I put the brush down and turned to other aspects of the arts.

In 2016 I suffered the loss of my father – the head of the family, and then my favorite Golden Retriever Butters – the head of the Snack Pack, both of whom I miss dearly. This was the defining moment for me and I found the desire to pick up a brush again and I have not stopped since.

Here is one story from my journey through a painting requested by one of my sisters. Thanks to her I learned a very important lesson about inspiration, so I thought I would share in the hopes of inspiring another creative soul.  Enjoy!
