My makeup always looks flawless when my foundation is applied with a brush, especially liquid foundation. There are all kinds of brushes on the market today and they are made from a vast variety of materials, natural and synthetic, which gives me too many options to choose from. As Yalmeh states, this could be the last foundation brush I will ever need. It works for mineral, liquid and powder foundation, eliminating the need for a bunch of brushes. I have used flat brushes and stippling brushes which gets the job done, but can be hard to clean, especially the latter. So, how does the Yalmeh Foundation Brush score?

The Yalmeh Foundation Brush comes packed in a plastic sleeve inside of a white box sporting the Yalmeh logo. As suggested, and as I always do, I washed the brush before using it the first time.

Out of the box, the brush looks amazing. It has a surprisingly thick and pointed brush tip, a gold tone ferrule, and a bone colored wooden handle which fits nicely in my hand. I’m telling you, this brush is substantial.

First I tried the brush with a mineral makeup which worked really nice. I applied the make up using a circular swirling motion and I achieved nice coverage overall.

Next I used a powder foundation and again the brush did a great job at applying and covering my skin with the makeup. After use, I held the brush in one hand and knocked it with the other hand to remove any residual powder. My makeup looked really good.

Lastly it was time for liquid makeup. I used a slightly different technique this time, dipping the tip of the brush in the liquid foundation, and then applying it using upwards swipes to apply the foundation, followed by a slight stippling motion to blend it all in. Using this brush made my makeup look as if it were airbrushed and photoshopped hunty! Perfection.

Now the hard part – cleaning. Oops! Not hard to clean at all. I was able to remove all of the residual makeup easily. Having dabbled in acrylic painting, I know how important a good ferule is to a good brush. I can’t tell how far the brush extends into the ferule, however, there was no shedding either during application or clean-up. This leads me to think that the brush is well made inside and out.

Overall, I really like the Yalmeh Foundation Brush and I’ve been using it pretty much non-stop. Not only is it great for foundation, I use it for my blush, bronzer and blending. It doesn’t irritate my skin and it’s very soft on my face. The fact that I can use it for more than foundation is a definite plus.
