Eating healthy, counting calories, exercising or trying to boost your metabolism may not be enough to help you find the ideal method for losing weight and keeping it off. Now, you can get all of the information you need to help your cause with the Easy@Home Bluetooth Body Fat Scale. This scale, once connected via bluetooth will deliver all of your information right to your smart phone or IOS device through the free downloadable EasyHomeScale app.
The Easy@Home Scale comes ready to use out of the box. Included batteries are already installed. Simply open the battery compartment and remove the plastic tab and your scale is ready for use.
Before using the scale for the first time, visit the Apple App Store for IOS devices, or the GooglePlay Store for android devices, search for the EasyHomeScale app, download it, and you are ready to start tracking.
Open up the app and make sure bluetooth is on for your device. You will first set up the app with your information to make a profile for yourself. You will enter your name, gender, unit of measure (lb/kg), birthday, height and fitness level. Save this profile information and now it is time to get your numbers.
With the app open and the scale turned on, step on the scale with bare feet and stay put. You will see a message on your device which says it is gathering data. Three 8’s will flash across the LED screen on the scale. Once this is complete the app will ask if you want to see your data. Press yes and your information is presented to you within the app. You will see your weight, body water, body fat, bone mass, BMI (body mass index) visceral fat, BMR (basal metabolic rate) and muscle mass right before your eyes.
To get the best measurements, it is recommended that you weigh yourself first thing in the morning to get an accurate weight. Evening weigh-ins will give you more accurate information regarding your body fat, etc.
At the bottom of the app you will see a line which tells you, according to your BMI if you are thin, healthy, fat or overweight. At a glance you can check under the Info tab to see if you fall within low, normal or high ranges for each segment.
Under the Settings tab you can check/change your personal information, and change the type of scale you are using (applicable only to the body fat scale or the bathroom scale). You can save your data as a .txt file and send it via email. Also under the Settings tab you can find a wealth of information about the Easy@Home Scale including supported IOS and android devices, supported scale models, user management, troubleshooting and more. Tap the delete tab to delete specific sessions
After you weigh yourself more than once, you can scroll through each session to see your accumulated data.
What is My-Ology on the
Easy@Home Bluetooth Body Fat Scale?
I found this scale to be very well made, and substantial in weight. There is an easy to read 4.3 LED back lit blue light display and the scale can be set to measure in kilograms or pounds.
With my android smart phone (Galaxy III) there was no problem connecting via bluetooth, and each time I stepped on the scale, my data was delivered within 10 seconds. The QR code on the back of the box will connect to the website only and is not a link to the actual app.
As for my iPad Air (first generation), I tried using the QR code which took me to the EasyAtHome Medical website. I found the app in the App Store fairly easy. The scale was discovered the first time I turned on the bluetooth on my iPad Air, but when I tried to pair them my iPad returned an error message stating that it could not connect to the scale, and it has not been “discovered” since. This was a bit of a bummer, but I actually found it easier to use my phone which is smaller.
The Easy@Home Scale seems to be fairly accurate, as I weighed myself three times in a row and each time the exact same numbers were returned. The next day I weighed in the morning, and again in the evening and the numbers were different, but had only increased/decreased slightly which, to my eye, supports the accuracy.
Negatives: I don’t necessarily want to grab my device in order to see all of my numbers. It would be nice if they could flash across the LCD screen, but it’s not a huge issue. Additionally, it was a bit of a bummer that I could not ever get my iPad to connect with the scale. My device is listed as compatible with the scale, but it just does not connect.
Overall, I would highly recommend this scale. It’s a little bigger than most bathroom scales, but that makes for a nice large surface to stand on. With a capacity of 400 pounds, this scale can be used by almost everyone. The only caveat is that people with pacemakers or other internal medical devices, pregnant women, and children under the age of 10 should not use this scale.
There is silver easy-on button on the front of the scale and it has an auto-off feature. The best part is that it comes with batteries installed, and I always appreciate companies that give you batteries so that you can use your product immediately. The user manual is easy to use and you can always get more information by visiting the website or emailing [email protected].
I like this scale so much, I even did a video review which you can check out here.
This scale would make a great addition to any health program and would also make a great gift for the health enthusiast in your life.
