100% Natural – InstaNatural Seaweed Powder Review
A few short years ago, if someone had said to me “use seaweed powder on your face”, I probably would have told them to go jump in the ocean. Lately I have been fishing around for a good facial mask, and low and behold, InstaNatural wanted me to try their 100% Natural Seaweed Powder, so “I guess I’ll go jump in the ocean!”

If you follow my blog, you know that InstaNatural is one of my favorite companies when it comes to beauty products. Boy they did not disappoint this time. They sent me the biggest jar of seaweed powder I have seen anywhere. Having looked in health food stores and online, compared to what I have found, this jar is ginormous!
Opening the jar instantly transports me to the beach – walking along the water’s edge where all of the seaweed usually accumulates, and the smell is all too familiar. I’m sure you know the scent I’m trying to describe.
On the label there are four recipes: a body wrap, cellulite scrub, facial scrub, and a facial mask. Of course I was dying to try the facial mask first, but just like I expected, my unpredictable mind suggested that we start with the facial scrub. I agreed, gathered my ingredients and started mixing.
This recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of the seaweed powder, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (fractionated worked great but any organic type will do) and 3-4 tablespoons of sea salt – not kosher. I mixed it until I achieved a very thick paste.
Now I have to admit, I was slightly hesitant to use salt on my face having never done so before, at least not to my knowledge. I was praying that it would not burn or scratch my face and not feel uncomfortable.
I moistened my face and started applying the scrub. At first I felt as if the salt was a bit too abrasive, but I just lightened up on my touch and kept it moving. The scrub rinsed off well and once again left my face feeling really soft.
Next up: the facial mask which I wanted to try first, but. . .my mind. . .
Using 2 tablespoons of InstaNatural seaweed powder, 1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel (get it in health food stores), and 2 tablespoons of honey, I started mixing again.
I cleansed my face first and then applied the mask which went on nice and smooth. I let it sit for 10 minutes and rinsed it off using tepid water with my hands.
Afterwards, with my face feeling as soft as could be, I proceeded with my InstaNatural Vitamin C Toner, Vitamin C Serum and Retinol Moisturizer (I’ll be reviewing the latter soon).
I have not yet tried the cellulite scrub, because I just really don’t care about my cellulite at the moment 🙂 However, I may have to ask my lovely ladies at ZenzaSpa Wellness Boutique to try the seaweed body wrap on me the next time I am in the Englewood, NJ area.
Of note, after using the mask and the scrub, all of my other products applied much better and I used a lot less of them.
Final thoughts: InstaNatural has me intrigued with making my own facial masks and scrubs with this seaweed powder and I’m on a mission to create more recipes to use and hopefully share with you.
